THE GADABOUTS VISIT ALL SAINTS' CHURCH, TEALBY
At the end of August 2013 The Gadabouts visited All Saints' Church, Tealby, in the Lincolnshire Wolds. We were provided with coffee on arrival and then we were given a talk by The Rev'd Gervase Babbington on the history of the church.
Joy Babbington followed this by telling the story of the kneelers, which had all been made by local people.
An excellent lunch was then enjoyed at The Old Barn, Tealby.
In the afternoon a small group walked along part of The Viking Way from Tealby to Walesby. There are two churches in the village, St. Mary's, the current parish church, and the original parish church of All Saints, which is known as Walesby Old Church and is also called The Ramblers' Church.
The remainder of our party either relaxed in the sun or explored Tealby village, before driving to Walesby where the whole group met up again and viewed both churches before returning to Lincoln. We all agreed the day had been most enjoyable.
